Meaning of Life

"Life, no matter how grand mankind defines it or wants it to be, is simply about learning to forget, or pretending to not know, the fundamental truth that everything in this world is vanity."

Death makes every material and intellectual endeavors futile. The only meaningful thing that man can do, is to take upon him the most difficult task in life, which is finding spiritual fulfillment. It is difficult because to take this task means to transcend one's self and go beyond who and what we are. Yet the only thing that makes it meaningful is that this is the only endeavor where true hope can be applied. While material and intellectual endeavors offer temporal fulfillment but are sure to end in death, spiritual endeavor offers eternal fulfillment because it rests in hope, a hope that can only be confirmed beyond death.
